Do video games make people violent? The opinion of a biased gamer is, obviously, no. But even as such, I find it appalling just how ignorant people are of the hobby that many people enjoy.

There was an event at my local cyber-cafe involving a lady who took it upon herself to harass the owner for “corrupting the youth of the world with violence and guns.” Never mind the fact that we were having fun at the time. I wanted to turn around and say, “Hey, have you ever done something in your youth that adults did not approve of?”

It never fails to annoy me how easily some adults forget their younger years and blame all of society’s problems on the current youth culture. Never mind the media, which routinely demonizes youth culture for the sake of ratings, screwing us out of our freedoms. They closed “The Strip” off to us. “The Strip” has been driven on by generations of youth, why select us to punish by preventing access? What have we done to deserve the subhuman treatment of law enforcement and government alike? The answer they’d give, I suppose, is that we were born at the wrong time.
