The Ship
As anyone who has looked at this section would realize, the current D&D game is a ship centric game. The ship in this game is the Serpent's Nest, a medium-sized galley. The crew are mostly military veterans from the Great War, under the command of Cruroar Serpent Helm. Recently, Cruroar has hired on a number of new crew members and taken on some new passangers. A description of these characters follows.
The Crew (player characters)
Captain Cruroar Serpenthelm (human)
Captain of the Serpent's Nest and a skilled warlock. Cruroar deals with his family curse daily, but seeks to destroy the demons who source his power. In truth though, the source of his power is unknown to him, the history of his ancestor's demonic tryst has been lost to history. Perhaps, his powers come from some other chaotic source. Cruroar is a clever tactician, a shrewd comander, and a clever negotiator.
Rowan (human)
Rowan is a skilled treasure hunter, currently employed by an elvish artifact collector. She has booked passage on the Serpent's Nest twice now to ply her trade. She has recently recovered Shishi-O, a magical blade of strange lineage. She bears a fierce rivalry with Jozan Claron.
Diana Woodsoul (half-elf)
Diana is a cleric of Pelor, the god of the Sun. Cruroar has hired her to serve as the ship's chaplain.
Shirim (half-elf)
A highly skilled fighter with light blades, Shirim has been hired on to act as additional muscle on the increasingly dangerous adventures in which Cruroar has become involved.
Megane (human)
A student of both subterfugue and the arcane, Megane is employed by Cruroar for her obvious combat and practical abilities.
Supporting Cast (non-player characters)
Jozan Claron
Apprentice Loremast of the Royal Philosophers. Jozan has booked passage on the Serpent's Nest for his own reasons. So far, he seems to be negotiating something with the various island governors, constibles, and mayors. What this is, only time will tell. Some papers that Rowan found in his office also indicate an interest in gateways and arches.
Matsuo
The flamboyant and eccentric swordsman. Prior owner of Shishi-O.
Fenson
Constable Fenson is the law on Grimbold Island. This is the largest island within a weeks voyage of Tortuga and as such, has become the densest population center off the mainland. This also makes it the target of frequent pirate attacks. Fenson has put a bounty out on any and all persons suspected of piracy.
Ecclesiarch Malfon
The head of the Church of Pelor and his personal army, informally known as the Redcoats. Malfon hates piracy, and often uses his influence to lean on the Council of Lords to force them into action.
Lord Admiral Callin
One of the Council of Lords. Lord Callin leads the faction of the council opposed to the use of arcane magic. This faction is currently to week to force any laws, but a disaster could certainly sway the votes of some of the Lords.
Logrin the Zealous
Logrin, sometimes called the Hand of Callin, is the millitary representative of Lord Callin. His purpose is to track down and destroy evil spellcasters. Although he has sworn his service to Pelor, his tactics are known to be ruthless. He wields a shining hammer in battle.
