Another change in Microsoft’s policies, Microsoft has just announced that the Kinect will no longer need to be connected in order for the Xbox One to work.
In a recent Ask Microsoft Anything, Xbox Corporate Vice President Marc Whitten revealed that Xbox One owners will be able to use all of the console's core functions regardless of whether the new Kinect sensor is connected. (Reported by IGN)
This marks another major revision of Microsoft’s policies following backlash from the public. Now the questions is; will this be an opening for a Kinect free Xbox One at a lower price point? Keep in mind, Microsoft set the $499 price for the XBox One because of the inclusion of the new Kinect sensor. Now with this new policy, Microsoft may consider lowering that price.
