Man, this was really a week where I didn’t get to do much. For reasons unknown to me, the last episode of Astra: Lost in Space wasn’t posted. I finished this season of Dan Machi (Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls at the Dungeon) and, honestly not impressed. I never thought it was really a great series or anything, but it was at least fun with some interesting battles and effects and things. But honestly, the plot, characters, and worldbuilding all left things to be desired. I did watch another episode of Cop Craft. It’s still a lot of fun, but I think I can see the end of the budget. The series is almost over, and I think the conclusion is going to be good. It feels like it from the distance of a few episodes at least.Read More
Hello, friends. This has certainly been a “special hell” type of week here. I’ve tended to keep politics out of this feed, because I want it to be more of a safe place. Or, at least a place that is less affected by the day to day events of the world outside, and we can just talk about things that bring us joy. Events this week have really intruded on that for me. I’m not going to write a thousand words about it here: people with traumatic experiences, and who are much sharper in their analysis and prose, have already (or will soon) talk or publish about it. All that I will do here is encourage you to register to vote now and turn out in November to vote.Read More
Hi everyone! I've had a week away from home, which means that I've done very little in terms of gaming or anything else. All that I have to report is that I've played through the first zone of Call of the Wild and had a lot of fun doing it. I managed to find a lot of things that Crystal did not, which makes me feel pretty good. However, we received our Nintendo Switch while I was away, so I'm going to end up starting the game over anyways. That's alright though, being an hour or so in, I'm not going to feel too frustrated. The game is pretty and such a joy to play, that I'm going to enjoy every minute of the opening chapter again on my replay. Come back next week, when I've hopefully had time to play a little more. Have a great week, and game one!
Hello readers! I was having a bit of a busy week at work, which meant that I spent most of the after hours time with a somewhat guilty pleasure: Chopped. Of the various cooking contest shows, its one of my favorites. But, you didn't come here to read about cooking shows, so lets talk about some more geeky stuff.
E3 has come and gone, with a lot of discussion about the new Legend of Zelda title: Breath of the Wild. The trailer is gorgeous and the play-through videos make it look like a whole lot of fun. I'm setting aside some money to buy an NX and Breath of the Wild next year. I'm really excited for a more open world Zelda game where there are more options about how to proceed through the game. What are your thoughts on this new direction?
Speaking of The Legend of Zelda, I decided to spend about an hour today to finally finish Wind Waker. For whatever reason, I never managed to finish it during its prime on the GameCube. Thanks to the HD re-release, I have finally been able to finish it. The final fight with Ganondorf is interesting and spoilers: unbelievably brutal. I'm thinking about turning around and heading out again so that I can adventure in the blue tunic rather than the hero's outfit. I really loved that crab shirt.
Also, I spent this weekend and Denver Comic Con, buying all of the indie comics. Seriously, I bought a lot of comics. I'm going to leave it at that, get some dinner, and enjoy some comics. I hope you all have a great week, and game on!
