Co-op + platformer is an ancient combination. The earliest on I remember playing was the first Toe Jam and Earl for the Sega Genesis. Since then it has been done and done again. As such it can be hard to make good on any new entry in the genre. But Knack 2 seems to do a decent job.Read More
Last night was the Playstation E3 2017 Conference. This conference was much different from the other presentations. Instead of having someone on the stage talking things up they let the games speak for themselves. It was essentially an intro followed by a bunch of trailers followed by a closing short speach. So what all did they show?Read More
After over 2 years of waiting, Overwatch has finally arrived. Coming from the remains of the “Titan” project, Overwatch is a new entry in the Team-Oriented Role-Based FPS genre. Man, that is what, TORBFPS? Note to self, find better acronym for this. Anyway, until this came the most prosperous game in the this category was Team Fortress 2. And while Team Fortress 2 is still going to be sitting comfortably on its hat filled throne, we finally at least have a game to give it a run for its money.Read More
Yesterday was the end of the Overwatch open beta. Thousands (guessing) of players jumped and got what was potentially their first taste of Blizzard's first FPS. And it appears to have gone over well. In order to gently let us newbs get a feel for the game you have a standard training tutorial, and then you have team vs AI. Here you are set with a human team vs a set of AI opponents with a set difficulty. Once you have had your feel of the AI, then you can go for some good old human vs human action.Read More
The final game of Rocksteady's Arkham series has been released. Our last venture out as the Dark Knight has come for Xbox One, PS4, and arguably the PC. This takes place one year after the events of Arkham City. Most of the criminals that were held in the neighborhood spanning prison were set free as they were held illegally. This means that Two Face, Penguin, Harley Quinn, and Riddler were all free people. They even laid low and crime dropped in Gotham. In fact things were looking great for the citizens of Gotham. Then on Halloween night Scarecrow returned. It started with a small demonstration of fear gas at a diner. Which then lead to a full scale evacuation of the whole city. Now it is up to the Batman to prevent Scarecrow and the other villains from destroying Gotham, and perhaps the country.Read More
PlayStation Now is a pretty cool idea. 100's of PS3 games that you can stream to play over your PS4. While it is not true backwards compatibility it is pretty close, and if you never actually owned the games you could just play them from here. Downside is that it was super expensive comparatively to actually play the games. But that will soon no longer be a problem. Starting on 01/13/2015 you can subscribe to the service for $19.99 one month at a time or 3 months for $44.99 ($15.00 / month) for unlimited play of the entire catalog.Read More
For the first time ever we are doing an unboxing video. And to start we are doing the PlayStation 4. Enjoy!
So I was just about to type how I was waiting for my PS4 to arrive from Amazon. Then my door bell rang and it was on my front porch. After I finish up with the day job I get to break this open and check her out. In the mean time here is the Sony PS4 launch real giving us some teases on what we can expect for this system.
Sony has recently released a new trailer. This one makes playing with your friends and attempting to end their lives as quickly as possible into a cheery musical that may make it's way to broadway (not really). Nice to see them still making interesting commercials to sell their brand, and not just a single product.
