Blizzard Entertainment created quite the buzz when they released Diablo III last May. Since then, many fans have bailed on the name because of the current content and game functions. The game developers have done their best to keep up with requests from the public (more leveling, better items, more content) but it seems like one of the most important subjects has yet to be released. Dueling with other players (or lack thereof) seems to be one of the largest complaints from players across the globe.
Beta testing videos and rumors have bounced around on forums and the internet but the game developers have finally released an official update/statement on the subject (http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/8163085/?utm_source=internal&utm_medium=launcher&utm_campaign=d3&utm_content=news-textlink). For the players who have abandoned the game, they will soon realize that the game developers will deliver what they want. Players forget that most games start somewhere and then additions and improvements come with patches and expansion releases. Like many games, users come and go but when Diablo III is sure to spark the public's attention when the PVP system is released.

This really did not come as a surprise to me, or just about any one else, but Diablo III has broken the record for PC game sales in a 24 hour period. In the first 24 hours of the game being on sale they sold 3.5 million copies. This number doesn't include the 1.2 million copies that people got with their World of Warcraft annual pass subscription. That means approximately 4.7 million people were ready to play on day 1. Over the next week that number grew to 6.4 million users. Congratulations in the record Blizzard, and in being able to have so many bugs at launch and still have people love you.

Diablo III; you can't wait for it, I can't wait for it, pretty much anyone who plays games can't wait for it. Blizzard is now showing that not only are they making a game with the devil in the details, but that they may be the devil themselves, if not just as evil. Diablo III is going to have a real money auction house. Players can find objects in the game and sell them to other players for real cash. Why have they done this and why is it evil? I'll get to that in just a moment.

Chris "Assimilator" McLerran I have successfully completed another episode of The Gameslave Podcast. I talk of OnLive giving stuff away, Blizzard donations and Angry Birds. And apparently I started making up words during part of the podcast and had some very poor grammar skills, please forgive (or not). Also there is no PSN talk in this podcast, I am tired of it by now.
