So now that the chaos is mostly over I have taken a few moments to collect my thoughts about 2012. This has been a good year for gaming. We have had some great games and some fun controversies (as fun as they could be). Unfortunately we have also some of the most ridiculous things from people that just don't know better. What were some of my favorites this year? Well hold your horses and I will tell you.

Gamers have whined and complained, and now it has paid off. The extended endings for Mass Effect 3 are officially here. Pop open your copy of Mass Effect 3 and download the most recent DLC. Once downloaded you can access the new endings in one of two ways.
::SPOILER:: You can either A) Start at the assault on the Cerberus base to get the biggest bang for your buck or B) You can start at the point where you return ot the Citadel. From what I have heard they have gone all out and you will have to play the game differently to get all the different endings. So get out there, and save the universe several times!

The geeks have whined, bitched, and moaned. Now they get to see the fruits of their labor. EA and Bioware are releasing free DLC that will expand (read: not change) the ending to the epic that is Mass Effect 3. The DLC will add extra cinematic scenes as an epilogue to the game. BioWare believes that this will strike a nice balance between between answering the fans questions and maintaining the artistic vision of Casey Hudson and his team.
Look forward to downloading the DLC on all three platforms (PC, 360, and PS3) some time this summer. And while they have it marked as expiring on 04/12/2014 they do plan on keeping it free and availble as long as they can, but they add expiration dates to all free content.

The Holy Trinity...Anybody who knows me or has been reading any of my past Conversations with IrishPride articles, knows that I am absolutely enamored with the Mass Effect universe. Well, I just finished Mass Effect 3 and I come to you with a review of the final chapter. Does the conclusion of Commander Shepard's epic trilogy end with a big bang? Mass Effect 3 has to be the first game to get an award for the most hated ending of all time. But why is that? How did it come to petitions (although at least this is being done in a positive light, http://retakemasseffect.chipin.com/retake-mass-effect-childs-play) to a gamer actually bringing the issue to the Federal Trade Commission and Better Business Bureau claiming that the ending of the game does not live up to claims made in their advertising campaign and PR interviews. The user wants a new ending within 30 days or he plans to return the game (http://kotaku.com/5894278/mass-effect-3-fan-complains-to-the-feds-over-the-games-ending). But why all the hate? If you have not beat the game yet, do so them come back, this sucker is going to have spoilers leaking from everywhere.
