The Professional Gamer - July 5, 2013

Hello fellow geeks!  After several weeks without an article, I have returned with some discussion of my weekly geekery.  This past week has been mainly taken up in reading.  Let's get started.

Last Friday I picked up a copy of Adventure Time Vol. 1 by Ryan North.  ZeldaQueen and I discussed this book in more detail during last week's podcast, so I'll be brief here.  This is a fantastically well-written and illustrated story.  For fans of Adventure Time, this is a must read.

My current read is I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.  This book was brought to my attention when I heard about Matheson's death on the radio.  I'm still in the early parts of the book, but so far am enjoying it thoroughly.  The main character, Robert Neville, is instantly an identifiable and sympathetic character.  His lone struggle against a post-apocalyptic world drew me in, and the ups and downs of his situation have kept me glued to the book.

Finally, when I have time, the original Final Fantasy has been in my GB:Advance.  The plot seems to be a bit lacking so far (a king named only "The King"), but I can understand the popularity of the game when it was originally released.

That's it for this week.  Look for another article next week.
