Hey, what are you doing this weekend? Going to relax at home, play some video games? Sounds like a pretty chill weekend. But what you could do is buck off that non-social stigma that people like to think gamers have. Instead of playing games in your home alone, play them at the National Western Center! That is right, DreamHack is this starting at 9:00 AM for BYOC load-in and running to Sunday at 6:00 PM. That is pretty much 3 days of solid gaming.
Read MoreA few days Nintendo accounced, unsurprisingly, that they would be releasing an SNES Classic system in a similar vein to the NES Classic. The new mini-console will include 21 games including StarFox 2, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, and Earth Bound. The system will also include 2 SNES controllers for a price of $80. The system is set to release this September and will run through 2017. That is all very nice, but should we really care?
Read MoreHey Guys, Cari here and I’m reporting on E3 2017 after returning from L.A. I don’t have a ton to report this year but here are my first impressions of the things that I saw. Day one I got to see Natsume’s booth, DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT, and Marvel versus Capcom. (I saw many things including gaming setups and technology and there were a ton of games showcased this year, these are what I got my hands on). Day two was very light, I played Super Mario Odyssey and Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin, and watched Chris play some Knack II. Day three I played Lego Dimensions and Sonic Forces.

OK, disclaimer at the start of this, I am a fan of the Metroid series. I won't say I am biggest fan, but a fan none-the-less. So the fact that this E3 was meet with not one, but two Metroid titles, pure 100% awesome!

This time he has even sent it wedding invites though. But he made a grave mistake, he pissed off a magic top hat! Sure Bowser has perfected his plan on stopping Mario, but Mario with a magic hat? Doom has arrived on Bowser's door stop. Or at least it will once Mario and Cappy (the aforementioned hat) have finished gathering a band for his old girlfriend, Paulina.
Read MoreCapcom had a showing of the newest entry in the MvC universe, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite . The booth had two ways to play, versus mode and the full story. The full story takes about 30 minutes to run through, so their is a little substance there. The versus mode was the popular draw, although this may have been due to the faster line. Cari and I went head to head in a one round match. The gameplay was quick with here making heavy use of here infinity stone to keep me close to her preventing me from using ranged attacks. The game was fun and I look forward to the full relase when it comes out.
Co-op + platformer is an ancient combination. The earliest on I remember playing was the first Toe Jam and Earl for the Sega Genesis. Since then it has been done and done again. As such it can be hard to make good on any new entry in the genre. But Knack 2 seems to do a decent job.

It started on a single player mode showcasing how to track monsters given a little information. On this case we were told to search for mucus that identified the creature's territory. From their special tracking flies were able to find more mucus, and eventually our monster. This feature looks like it can greatly reduced the time searching and increase the time fighting.
