After over 2 years of waiting, Overwatch has finally arrived. Coming from the remains of the “Titan” project, Overwatch is a new entry in the Team-Oriented Role-Based FPS genre. Man, that is what, TORBFPS? Note to self, find better acronym for this. Anyway, until this came the most prosperous game in the this category was Team Fortress 2. And while Team Fortress 2 is still going to be sitting comfortably on its hat filled throne, we finally at least have a game to give it a run for its money.Read More
Yesterday was the end of the Overwatch open beta. Thousands (guessing) of players jumped and got what was potentially their first taste of Blizzard's first FPS. And it appears to have gone over well. In order to gently let us newbs get a feel for the game you have a standard training tutorial, and then you have team vs AI. Here you are set with a human team vs a set of AI opponents with a set difficulty. Once you have had your feel of the AI, then you can go for some good old human vs human action.Read More
Pixel Galaxy is a new "space" shooter from indie developer Serenity Forge. At its core the game is a "bullet hell" shooter where you start out as a single pixel. From there more pixels race on to the screen, some of them shooting (lots of) bullets at you. If you can dodge the plethora of bullets and run into the pixel firing at you then that pixel is added to you. The more pixels you get the bigger you are. These new pixels may even fire bullets to take out other pixels and add protection for you, the core pixel. But this also means you are less nimble and will get hit by more bullets.Read More
The final game of Rocksteady's Arkham series has been released. Our last venture out as the Dark Knight has come for Xbox One, PS4, and arguably the PC. This means that Two Face, Penguin, Harley Quinn, and Riddler were all free people. They even laid low and crime dropped in Gotham. In fact things were looking great for the citizens of Gotham. Then on Halloween night Scarecrow returned. It started with a small demonstration of fear gas at a diner. Which then lead to a full scale evacuation of the whole city. Now it is up to the Batman to prevent Scarecrow and the other villains from destroying Gotham, and perhaps the country.Read More
Titanfall, the big new game coming from Respawn Entertainment and published by EA, is coming out for Xbox One and PC March 11, and it actually seems to be worth our time. You have probably seen your fair share of Titanfall by now, but just in case you have not, or only seen the super clean trailers here is what it is like to have a Titan actually fall from orbit.Read More
Out of all the games that were showcased at E3 2013, the one that I was looking forward to the most was Watch Dogs. My friend and I waited in line for the live demo for a total of three hours. Was the wait worth it? Most people would say no, but I left the demo with more excitement to purchase the final version.
Walking around the Warner Brothers area at E3, I was surprised to see a title I hadn't even heard of prior to my visit to LA. Being a sucker for zombie games, I decided to check it out on the final day. Is Dying Light just another rehash zombie game, or did it show some potential in the live demo? Read on to find out.
